The role:

Due to continued growth, we have immediate vacancies for Remedial Earthworks Resident Engineers with previous experience of remediation and/ or earthworks contracting design and construction. You will be an integral and leading member of our site management teams in support of our Remediation contracting business. Your key responsibility will be the effective technical delivery of a wide range of remediation projects – principally earthworks focused and preparing sites for future development. You will be an experienced engineer with an earthworks/ geotechnical background. You will work on land remediation projects within our North East and Yorkshire regions. You should have proven experience of working on similar earthworks projects and should have a degree in civil engineering, engineering geology or similar.

Primary requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills (in English).
  • Able to review, interpret and summarise Site Investigation information.
  • Management of time and cost budgets.
  • Understanding of remedial and soil stabilisation technologies.
  • Verification and closure of remediation and earthworks projects.
  • You may be expected to look after one large project or a few smaller projects.
  • Where required, you will be expected to work away from home.

Desirable requirements:

  • Able to design earthworks and remediation schemes and produce relevant Remediation Strategies and Earthworks Specifications.
  • A detailed understanding of earthworks implementation to standard UK specifications.
  • Geotechnical design
  • Proven track record in remedial earthworks control and project management.
  • Management of sub-contractors.
  • Mentoring and management of junior staff.
