Phil Morgan, is currently leading a series of training courses in Central London for industry body, Contaminated Land: Applications in Real Environments (CL:AIRE). Held in association with the Environment Agency, and attended by their staff as well as other delegates, the one-day workshops include an overview of the remediation options appraisal process and a range of remediation technology specific modules, including Permeable Reactive Barriers and Bioremediation. The course programme runs until mid-2008.

The modules on an individual technology address its status in the UK and internationally, examples of its application in the UK, the site investigation information needed for its design, key information requirements to inform options appraisal and the process for implementation and verification.

Phil says: “It’s vital that all parties can have access to the latest information and thinking on a range of remediation technologies. These modules will help both industry and government to better assess and utilise advanced methods of land remediation. The training was well attended by the Environment Agency and I know from their feedback that that they found them helpful. Furthermore, my role in the programme means that Sirius will be increasingly recognised by regulators and potential clients as having UK-leading expertise in the application of contaminated land remediation.”
